This hammer is a pleasure to use; feels nicely weighted and solid in the hand. A beautiful finish on the head and handle, this is a quality tool.
I mainly use mine to adjust my kanna but find myself increasingly going to it for other small tasks.

Traditional Japanese lapping plate
A cost effective and satisfying traditional method of lapping tools. Although of factory-second quality, I find it hard to fault with only small superficial marks. It’s dead flat, has good weight and leaves a beautiful flat mirror finish on tools with the right technique.

First kanna
My first kanna, and a great entry point I think. A useful width, and quality build that we know and expect from Kakuri. Takes great shavings, better in softwoods though from my experience. I found mine was almost ready to go out of the box, it’s very easy to shave too much off the dai and create a loose fit as I did.
For the money, I’d consider upgrading to the aogami iron model.

A handy little knife for trimming and marking. Not the most comfortable in hand, but the price, sharpness and utility easily make up for that.
