We have offered a small number of Tenryu's exquisitely hand-forged hammers for a number of years now, and we are proud to now add these black-finished examples to our range.


These beautiful heads' black satin finish is subtle and pleasing, while their long handles give their eventual owner plenty of room to swing.

Please note that, while our photos show purple and orange colours in the finish on the top of the hammers, this is a trick of photography and the finish in this area also appears black to the naked eye.

This is the "cleanest" hammer we've ever handled - so clean that it now lives in the kitchen, where it sees regular duty reducing kibble.
Every facet is useful - not just the flat + domed heads, but also the sides, top & edges.
(it also does an excellent job whacking nails & tapping chisels)

The white oak handle is lovely to hold - buffed it with 1200 paper and it came up feeling like glass (though this does not last with use).
Tung oil does not discolour it.

Arrived with the wedge already sunk (some tools on this site leave that step to the new owner) - its first job was to sink the wedge in another tool from here.
