Shapton Professional Sharpening Stone - #5000

$130.00

Description

The Shapton Professional #5000 waterstone is a fine waterstone that gives an excellent edge and will polish hard steels, especially the high carbon edges of Japanese tools and knives.

As with the rest of the Shapton Professional range, the #5000 is manufactured to maintain flatness for a relatively long time. For best results, we recommend regular light flattening of the stone with either a diamond plate or sandpaper on glass.

The #5000 stone is a finishing stone and from this point any tools can be expected to cut extremely well. The jump to the #8000 stone is very efficient from here, while the #12000 Shapton Professional is an excellent option that can be reached directly from the #5000.

Details:

  • Stone size: 210mm x 70mm x 16mm
