Description
Description
Designed for precise work on live plants, flowers, and houseplants, these Japanese floral snips are hand-forged and sharpened using traditional methods. Each piece bears subtle variations, and the handles are bound in hand-stitched tan leather and waxed thread for a beautiful, tactile grip.
The cowhide leather handle is shaped for comfort and control, making these snips difficult to put down. Over time, the leather will develop a rich patina with exposure to sun, sweat, and sap—becoming a unique reflection of your garden work.
Forged by Toyama Hamono, a workshop with a heritage dating back to the 1860s, the high-carbon steel blades are drop-forged and curved to a sharp convex edge for clean, accurate cuts. The snips come boxed with a black leather sheath.
Care and Maintenance
Not designed for cutting hard materials, wire, or dead wood. Always clean after use and wipe the blade with camellia oil or Yanipika to prevent rust and sap buildup. Do not sharpen the back of the blade.
