Handmade Japanese Budding Snips - 200mm

$89.00

Description

Designed for fine work on live plants, these handmade Japanese budding snips are ideal for delicate pruning, floristry, bonsai, and houseplant care. Lightweight and precise, they offer full control when trimming young stems and soft growth.

Please note: These snips are not intended for cutting dead wood, thick branches, or wire, as the fine blade may be damaged. Each pair is individually hand-forged and sharpened using traditional Japanese techniques, resulting in unique variations that highlight their craftsmanship.

Produced by Toyama Hamono - a renowned Japanese toolmaker since the 1860s - these snips feature a high carbon steel blade forged to a beautiful convex edge for clean, efficient cuts. Each pair is boxed and includes a protective blade sheath.

AWESOME snips

these snips are brilliant… they come sharp AF!!!
the fine tapered blades are excellent for getting in the narrow spots for delicate cuts… obviously not for chunky cuts, but the gentle delicate ones on the treasured new houseplant that you told your partner was on special for only $10, but we all know that was not exactly the truth was it now :-)
the little leather sheath is a welcome addition to protect the beautifully forged fine tapered blades when not in use.
the handle is extremely comfortable to hold despited not having any magical hyper-ergonomic space-age technical marvel from the fossil fuel industry that moulds to ones hand :-) it just plain works without any nonsense! and the locking latch is the same as what is found on all great Japanese gardening hand snips, secateurs and shears… quick to release and secure in locking!
gotta luv JTA for bringing these to the Australian market.
