Description

This Steel Edge Trimmer is an essential tool for furniture- and cabinet makers and its blade does not only have excellent cutting quality, it can also be sharpened. Due to its compact size, it can be used easily in narrow spaces.

When sharpening, ensure that only the outside edge of the trimmer is honed. Any sharpening of the inside edge will result in the trimmer no longer coming into contact with the work surface and make it ineffective.

It efficiently and smoothly trims: veneer, PVC, and excess dressing tape; leaving a clean finish.

Used it to trim and neaten the edges of a diorama board made from very hard old rain forest timber that sandpaper barely touched. Did a great job. A useful little piece of equipment.

A Little Gem

This little fellow is just perfect for softening the edges of boxes. It truly is a pocket plane, has no moving parts and is easy to sharpen. The geometry of the plane is such that you can sweep all the way into an inside corner and produce a chamfer, taking away the sharpness of the edge in just one sweep. My only criticism of the too is that it is too easy to misplace. I put mine down in the workshop (instead of in my pocket) and spent two weeks with a weather eye looking for it (in drawers and under the bench) In the end I had a buy another one. A near perfect tool (it could be painted bright orange so it is easy to find)
