Leather Skiving Knife

The skiving knife is the cornerstone of the leatherworker's toolkit. Whether cutting rough shapes, cutting to a line, or thinning for joining, the skiving knife has myriad uses.

This beautiful example is handmade by Michihamono with a laminated HSS cutting edge that will keep it's edge for an extremely long time. The knife is totally symmetrical and therefore ambidextrous.

It features a flat back and fine bevel.

The handle is made of oak that has had a burnt finish applied, which is soft in the hands and beautiful to work with.
