Toothed Harvesting Sickle (Stainless)

Toothed Harvesting Sickle (Stainless)

$36.00

Description

Half-saw, half-sickle, always useful, never rusts.

What do you bring in your veggies with? An old kitchen knife, perhaps? A pair of scissors? Sure, they'll do the job. But a serrated sickle can do it so much better.

This tool is totally unconcerned about what you're pulling out of your veggie patch. Whether the softest spinach stems or the most overgrown cauliflower, it matters not. A smooth, deliberate pull across the stem of your crop takes it out of the garden bed and one step closer to your plate.

The teeth of this sickle are nice and fine (15 tpi, for you saw nerds), and sickle shape brings them across the material to be cut amazingly efficiently.

This, the stainless model of this sickle, will resist rust and corrosion even under the harshest of environments and regardless of the state it is left in when stored. It's carbon-steel cousin can be found here.

We have found that the trickiest part of this tool is exercising the self-control to not snip everything off until it is ready to be brought in!

Makes garden tasks easy

I love using this little sickle! Its serrations make it super sharp and effective for cutting tough clumps of grass, weeds, rushes, and shrubby growth.
It's great for quickly cutting an armful of vegetables or grass to feed the chooks, goats, guinea pigs etc.
It's early spring here, so I haven't yet used it for harvesting, but I can tell it will make light work of cutting down sweetcorn stalks, potato haulms and tough brassica stems.
Just the thing for clearing a patch of docks etc, or to chop and drop a stand of comfrey or other mulch and compost materials.

Outstanding service

We recently purchased a toothed harvesting sickle from Japanese Tools on line. Their communication from receipt of our order to dispatch was prompt and outstanding. The tool proved to be of excellent quality and does a great job of cutting through grasses and pencil thick woody stems. Very impressed. A&Z
