Outback Pocketboy 170mm

Tool

Description

Ideal for hunting, the OUTBACK PocketBoy by Silky is a compact and lightweight folding saw with an extraordinary cutting capacity, and is the perfect addition for any adventure.

With a new camo-style handle crafted from wood particles and rubber provides superior grip, the saw will virtually “stick like glue” to your hand in the wet, or if you are dressing a beast, as it will cut through bone as well as wood.

The OUTBACK PocketBoy features a highly durable nickel/tin blend black coating that has low reflection but high corrosion resistance. And like all Silky Saws, the blade has non-set teeth that are taper-ground and impulse-hardened, for great cutting efficiency.

Silky Saws use a pull stroke action to cut. If your Silky Saw every gets caught on a branch never wrench the handle. Instead, lift the weight of the blade to release the saw. You do not have to saw fast or use strength to saw with a Silky, simply pull/glide it across the material.

Do not sharpen your Silky Outback Edition saw with a hand file. Impulse hardened teeth are not easily sharpened.

If the tips of your Silky Saw are dark and look a little grey then they have been hardened, which is the case for the Outback Edition.

Definitely Silky

I carry this with me when I'm checking the fire trails in my forest for fallen branches rather than lugging a chainsaw about with me. Initially, I purchased a pruning saw from a well-known gardening brand, but it was hopeless. I challenged my woodworking students to cut a small piece of Jarrah with the common brand. Not one of them was able to do it. After purchasing my Silky, I issued the same challenge and not one student failed it. The Silky was like a hot knife through butter. This isn't a saw just for pruning a suburban backyard, it also works brilliantly in the rough.

Good quality saw

This was a birthday gift for my partner, to prune where her electric pruners could not deal with the work, she was pleasantly surprised with it s quality.
