Shallow U-Gouge - HSS, 18mm

This beautiful carver's chisel is manufactured with an extremely sharp bevel angle thanks to the excellent metallurgy of it's laminated HSS edges. This edge inherits HSS's durability and strength, but thanks to it's lamination is able to be manufactured at an angle we have not seen from any other manufacturer.

The profile of this u-gouge is the middle of 3 different sized radiuses in this model range. It is more subtle than the "regular u-gouge", and more pronounced than the "super-shallow u-gouge". It is excellent for refining large concave areas.

It's handle is beautifully made from high quality hinoki (Japanese cypress) and is designed for use with hand pressure only (not to be struck).
