I've always been a fan of Japanese tools. I own some truly breathtaking chisels and saws, some going way back when Garrett Wade were suppliers in Melbourne.
My chisels are still going strong but a few of the old saws are quite tired
I happened upon the Silky Saw in Hobart at the Wooden Boat Festival.
The young fellow on the JTA stand was very helpful. I made a note to buy when I got home, by the way , fantastic service, thanks
I've purchased two of the Silky Dozuki and I m truly astounded at just how good they are to use. Perfect balance, the folding mechanism is sensational, razor sharp, almost micro thin and just magic to work with.
They don't look like your tradition Japanese saw but I reckon they perform far better and with the folding sheath I am confident that they'll last a lot longer on the bench BUT, they also offer replacement blades and so as to not run out I purchased four
JTA, has great stuff, some beautiful tools, but they don't just look good, they actually make life so much easier and are a pleasure to use
Thanks for the opportunity to write a review and may you clients see what I do at www.alstin.com.au if they wish to look
