This marking knife set contains both a knife with a right handed bevel, as well as one with a left handed bevel. Both the handle and sheath are made of brass. The blades are made of hardened stainless steel. These knives are ideal for marking out joints and cutting thin material. This set makes a great addition to any woodworker's tool set given that it's inexpensive, of high quality, and Japanese made at the same time.
This set contains:
Left or Right
A right and left hand bevel can be used in either hand. If you use a ruler to help mark a line with the knives, you would be able to mark on the right side of the ruler with the left hand bevel and the left side of the ruler with the right hand bevel.

Very good for the price.
Kiridashi marking knife
I've used the right hand marking knife for over 2 years now. It's a beautifully light, well made knife with a sleek cover to allow safe storage. The wide blade acts as a handy datum register when scoring timber against other profiles.
Marking knives
These inexpensive left and right marking knives do what they are supposed to do, cut sharp lines across grain up against a straight edge. The thin handles take some getting used to but feel comfortable in use.
Hi Paul, Glad to hear that our knives are getting a work out in your shop and performing to your expectations. If you have a lot of marking out to do and the thin handles don't suit, we have a few other options that might fit your hand better. May your knife lines be fine and your kerfs straight, The JTA Team
